Das SDQ5PIR-W ist ein vielseitiges Lautsprechersystem, bei dem der aktive Lautsprecher mit seinem 5,25-Zoll-Tieftöner das Signal an den passiven Lautsprecher weiterleitet. Die Steuerung des Systems kann auf verschiedene Weisen erfolgen: über die mitgelieferte Infrarot-Fernbedienung, über serielle Befehle oder über Biamp-Wandbedienfelder wie ACP, ACPL oder ACPR. Die Bedienelemente ACPL und ACPR ermöglichen zusätzlich den Anschluss externer Audioquellen. Alle Eingänge können in ihrer Lautstärke angepasst, einzeln verwendet oder miteinander gemischt werden. Der symmetrische Eingang ist besonders praktisch, um Störungen, Brummen oder Rauschen zu vermeiden, die bei Verbindungen zu Laptops, digitalen Projektoren oder interaktiven Whiteboards auftreten können.
