Der Planar 6 ergänzt die Rega-Produktpalette rund um die erfolgreichen RP8- und RP10- Plattenspieler.
Er hat als erster Plattenspieler einen ultraleichten Tan-Cast 8 Polyethan-Schaumstoff-Sockel. Dieser ist aussergewöhnlich dünn, aber extrem starr. Der Sockel wurde mit einem HPL (Hochdrucklaminat) in atemberaubenden kratzfestem Polaris mattgrau mit hochglanzpoliertem schwarzen Rand beschichtet.
Der Planar 6 profitiert nun von einer einteiligen, bearbeiteten Aluminium-Unterplatte sowie einem neuen 24-V-Motor, der manuell auf seine eigene NEO-Stromversorgung abgestimmt wurde.
Die Neo PSU nutzt den RP10 - Digital Signal Prozessor.
Damit wird eine nahezu perfekte sinusförmige Wellenform erzeugt, um den Motor anzutreiben.
