Der ST-70 ist ein hochwertiger MC-Step-Up-Transformator, der sich an anspruchsvolle Audiophile und Musikliebhaber richtet. Ortofon kombiniert dabei feinste Bauteile mit exzellenter Ingenieurskunst, um ein äußerst rauscharmes und detailreiches Klangerlebnis zu liefern.
Im Inneren werkeln Lundahl!22-Transformatoren, umgeben von speziellem Mu-Metall-Schirmmaterial, wodurch Störungen 13 sowohl intern als auch extern 13 bestmöglich ausgeblendet werden. Zudem setzt Ortofon auf ein Dual-Mono-Design, bei dem jeder Kanal eine eigene, getrennte Schaltung erhält 13 eine Maßnahme zur Minimierung von Übersprechungen (Crosstalk) und Verzerrungen.
Die Anschlüsse sind goldplattiert und mit Teflon-Isolation versehen, um Leitungsverluste zu minimieren. Im Inneren wird möglichst auf Verkabelung verzichtet 13 stattdessen setzt man auf hochwertige Leiterplatten, um die Signalführung so rein wie möglich zu halten. Zur Anpassung an verschiedene MC-Tonabnehmer bietet der ST-70 umschaltbare Jumper (Gain/Impedanz).
