Mit dem neuen Modell TD 403 DD ergänzt Thorens die Reihe direktgetriebener plug-and-play Plattenspieler der 400er Serie. Optisch ein echter Thorens, besitzt der neue TD 403 DD denselben bewährten laufruhigen Antrieb wie der erfolgreiche TD 402 DD, setzt sich aber durch einen massiveren 1,4 Kg schweren und 22mm dicken Plattenteller aus Aluguss und den auch im neuen Modell TD 1500 verbauten audiophilen Tonarm TP 150 von seinem kleineren Bruder ab. Serienmäßig wird außerdem ein hochwertiger und vorjustierter 2M Blue Tonabnehmer vom dänische Tonabnehmer Spezialisten Ortofon mitgeliefert. Dieser erweist sich durch seinen nackten Diamanten mit elliptischen Nadelschliff als adäquater Spielpartner.
