Die neue Rega Fono MC MK4 ist eine außergewöhnlich hochwertige MC-Phono-Vorstufe, die das Potenzial eines beliebigen MC-Tonabnehmers maximiert. Obwohl sie eigentlich speziell für die neuesten Rega Moving Coil- (MC-) Tonabnehmer entwickelt wurde, ist die Fono MC MK4 ausgesprochen universell. Über Dip-Schalter auf der Rückseite kann der Musikfreund bequem nahezu jeden geforderten Abschlusswert einstellen. Hilfreich sind auch die beiden unterschiedlichen (schaltbaren) Verstärkungsstufen, mit denen sich die Fono MC MK4 noch besser auf fast alle Low Output-MCs einstellen lässt.
