Bei der Entwicklung des Planar 3 stand alles im Zeichen höchster Laufruhe und größter Stabilität
Regas bewährter Oberklasse-Plattenspieler RP3 wird neu erfunden und wächst in der Version Planar 3 in 2016 über sich hinaus. Komplett runderneuert, mit so vielen Verbesserungen, dass man hier schon fast von einem RP4 sprechen könnte. Der Planar 3 hat schon den neuen Tonarm RB 330 - mit neuem Lagergehäuse, verbesserter Antiskating-Funktion und Niederkapazitäts-Innenverkabelung. Überall wurden - nicht viel, aber an genau den richtigen Stellen - zusätzliche resonanzmindernde Maßnahmen getroffen. Die Zarge selbst und die Verstrebungen wurden effizient verstärkt, das Messinggehäuse für das Lager noch präziser gearbeitet und auch die neuen Füße des Planar 3 wurden auf perfekte Energie-Ableitung hin optimiert.
